Calculate your savings

A conservative estimate for Athens, based on your electricity price and mounting.

  • The calculator below uses Attica sunlight and your tariff to estimate yearly generation, self-use, and payback range.
  • 800 W framework, zero feed-in, registration, and anti-islanding — understand them before you buy.

How you can start

Start with a kit. Add storage, zero-export, or EV charging when you need them.

Most households begin with a balcony kit — power first, numbers clear. Then add battery storage for evenings, a zero-export controller for compliance, or a home wallbox when you charge an EV.

What matters

We asked many Athens homeowners the same simple question: with electricity this expensive, would you install a balcony solar kit? Almost everyone said yes without hesitation. That's why we built this.

01

Up to 800 W output

Maximum grid-injection capacity of 800 W and installed capacity up to 900 W — the same limit used in Germany and Austria.

02

Zero feed-in

The energy covers exclusively your own needs. No electricity is exported to the grid.

03

Registration, not licensing

A declaration on the DEDDIE platform with wattage, model and type — instead of the multi-year approval process of rooftop PV.

04

Batteries allowed

Standalone storage systems are permitted — the key to real savings after sunset.

05

Anti-islanding protection

Mandatory automatic disconnection during outages, protecting the grid and repair crews.

06

Certified equipment

Penalties apply for false declarations. All our kits comply with the power limits and safety standards.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a permit?
Usually not the licensing path of larger rooftop PV. Expect a DEDDIE registration with wattage, model and type — we prepare the file with you. Building or landlord rules still apply.
Can I install more than 800 W?
No. The limit is 800 W grid output and 900 W installed capacity, with penalties for false declarations. The legal way to get more energy is adding a battery — or upgrading to a full rooftop system.
Do I have power during an outage?
The PV side disconnects automatically during outages (anti-islanding, protecting repair crews). Kits with a battery can power essential devices from the battery's independent output.
I rent, or live in an apartment building — can I install?
The mounts clamp onto the railing without drilling, and the whole system moves with you. For building façades, it's wise to check with your landlord or building management first.
How fast does it pay back?
With Athens sunshine and ~€0.24/kWh: about 3 years without a battery, 4–5 years with one — on a system that lasts over 10 years. Use the calculator above with your own numbers.

Greek plug-in balcony kits are for self-consumption up to 800 W injection with zero feed-in. Compliance is typically DEDDIE registration, not a multi-year grid-connection licence. We prepare the file with you; building rules and the live DEDDIE process still apply.
